September is here… and somehow it's almost passed us by! It's crazy to think autumn and winter party season are just around the corner.

After a mad few months, September has been a little quieter, and I've enjoyed having some breathing space. There's still been a full-day weddings and a few corporate gigs to keep me busy, but also some time away from the decks to recharge.

Of course, a DJ's version of downtime still involves checking equipment, looking at new kit and thinking about what's next! 😂

At the start of 2026, I promised myself I wouldn't pack the diary quite as tightly as in previous years. That's made this year really enjoyable, with a much better work/life balance while still giving every event the time, energy and preparation it deserves. It's something I want to carry into 2027.

Big Plans for 2027

And there's plenty to get excited about…

I've got new equipment and setup changes planned for next year, and I can't wait for everything to arrive. I'm also working on ideas for a proper showcase in the new year so you can see it all in action. There are a few ideas swimming around at the moment, so watch this space!

Alongside the equipment upgrades, I've refreshed my wedding packages, with a bigger focus on the evening reception.

For me, there's so much potential to make that part of your wedding feel truly personal, from bringing guests together and building the atmosphere to those huge singalong moments and a busy dancefloor. I've been working on new ideas to give couples more ways to make the celebration their own, and I'm looking forward to sharing them.

Upcoming Wedding Fayres

Which brings me nicely onto the upcoming wedding fayres!

I'll be at the Villa Marina and St John's in October, ready to chat about your plans, explain the different options and hopefully give you a taste of the atmosphere with some live demonstrations. If you're planning your wedding, come over and say hello. I'd love to hear what you've got in mind!

On the Awards

One other update: I've decided not to enter the wedding awards (TWIA) this year.

Being a TWIA finalist was a great experience, and I enjoyed meeting other wedding businesses, but it also helped me think about where I want to put my time and energy. For me, that's into the events themselves, the couples who book me and continuing to improve what MC Entertainment offers. The awards don't mean that much unfortunately.

I might not post about my gigs or spend quite as much time on social media as some businesses, but there's always plenty happening behind the scenes. Happy couples, lovely feedback and guests having a brilliant night remain what matters most to me.

So, that's September's update! A little breathing space, plenty happening in the background and lots to look forward to as we head towards 2027.

For now, winter party season is almost upon us and I'm looking forward to getting back out there with you all!

See you on the dancefloor!
